Please read these Booking Terms and Conditions carefully as they incorporate the basis upon which bookings are processed and accepted by Howqua River Cottage.

Rates: All rates quoted are in Australian dollars. The online secure credit card payment facility is via "Paypal", which therefore ensures lowest rates for accommodation with the inexpensive but highest security services that Paypal affords both Howqua River Cottage and its clientele. If you require further information on this or other payment methods, please address any queries to:  before paying for your booking.

Goods and Services Tax (GST): All rates are inclusive of Australian GST where applicable.

Availability: All bookings are subject to availability and the submission of the Booking Enquiry Form does not automatically guarantee your reservation. Howqua River Cottage will confirm reservations as soon as practically possible following the submission of the Booking Enquiry Form and acceptance of your deposit.

Deposits and Final Payments: Payment in full is required for all bookings to be officially and finally processed. Final payments are required in advance of the reservation commencement date and prior to the release of the keys to Howqua River Cottage. Payments can be made by Credit Card (preferred payment method), by telephone to 0439 350 027, or by direct debit to our bank account (please email us at for any assistance or enquiries with payment for your bookings).

Cancellations and refunds:

- Cancellation of your booking prior to payment of deposit incurs no fee.

- Cancellation of your booking after payment of deposit or termination of your reservation will incur a cancellation fee. A cancellation fee of 10% of the total amount of the booking will apply.

- Refunds are not available for cancellations on or after the reservation commencement date.

Descriptions: Descriptions provided by us are done so in good faith. Any facilities included are subject to change at any time. We do not guarantee the availability of 240-volt power (and therefore satellite television), which is subject to a variety of factors, including environmental conditions, as power to Howqua River Cottage is provided by solar energy system.

Minimum booking requirements: Accommodation may only be booked for a minimum of 2 nights.

Not included in the price of your accommodation: The cost of any breakages and telephone calls are not included within the rates quotes and will be charged in addition to the rates.

Booking arrangements: All bookings are to be made directly with Howqua River Cottage and the person effecting a booking shall be deemed to have accepted the Booking Terms and Conditions on behalf of all persons visiting or staying at Howqua River Cottage for the duration of the booking and until departure. The contract will be goverened by, and subject to, these Booking Terms and Conditions, which can only be varied in writing and with the authority of Howqua River Cottage.

Our responsibility: We always do our best to make sure that your arrangements are satisfactory. You are advised that Howqua River Cottage is essentially rural in nature, that the ground is not flat and that wombat and other animals’ holes exist on and surrounding the property. The standard of accommodation and other services are based on various factors; however, we do not guarantee the fitness of purpose of the accommodation. We do not accept liability of whatever the nature for the acts, omissions, default, whether negligent or otherwise, in contract or in tort (actionable wrong) for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any events which are beyond our control, but not limited to war, civil disturbances, fire, floods, Acts of God, acts of Government or of any other authorities, accident to or failure of machinery or equipment.

Website links: Howqua River Cottage is not itself a travel of adventure operator and the website links to such operators is done to provide an introduction only. We advise that Howqua River Cottage accepts no fee of commission for introductions. Howqua River Cottage does not accept liability of whatever nature for the acts, omissions, default, whether negligent or otherwise, of any operator in connection with your travel pursuant to a contract between them and yourselves.

Law of contract: The contract is governed in all respects by the Law of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any legal action arising under the contract shall be litigated only in the appropriate Court having jurisdiction in that State except that under certain consumer claims may be brought before the Fair Trading Tribunals or their equivalent having jurisdiction in respect thereof in Victoria.
